Texas Real Estate MCE Requirements

Courses Provided by The Real Estate Business School (Austin Institute of Real Estate) (provider #701045); approved by the Texas Real Estate Commission as Correspondence.

The state of Texas requires that real estate agents complete 15 hours of TREC approved courses every 2 years, these courses must include 6 hours of Mandatory legal courses including:

  • TREC Legal Updates
  • TREC Ethics Updates

The other 9 hours are elective courses.

The Texas Real Estate Commission requires a 24-hour waiting period after a course is started before it can be reported as complete. This means that after you have started a course, Online Institute of America must wait at least 24 hours before reporting your status to TREC, regardless of the actual time you may have completed the course. Please understand that the day and time you start your course may require more than 24 hours passing before reporting your completion.

Please take this new waiting period into consideration when choosing to start your course, especially if you are extremely close to your expiration date.

The prep was very effective and saved time and money for me as a busy realtor. The questions precise and study guide effective to mow through mounds of information especially for those like me who been out of college for quite a while. - Clement W.

As a result of using your program, I recently passed the state and national exams for my Salesperson license on the very first try! I was pleased to refer another young lady to your program at an orientation at the local board of realtors yesterday.

She is awaiting approval to take her test and is petrified. I assured her that your program works!
