If you have taken college courses, many times they can be used towards as many as 60 of the required classroom hours (equivalent to four semester hours). See TREC’s website for more information. Texas Real Estate SAE Courses | Texas Real Estate License School
60 hours in core real estate courses are required to be filed during the first year as a licensed Salesperson. These hours are known as SAE, or Salesperson Annual Education. These 60 hours must be submitted and on the TREC system by the end of the first year of licensure. Should the hours be completed PRIOR to the first renewal, the licensee will have satisfied the SAE requirements, and will then be under Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) requirements. Complete 15 hours of TREC approved MCE classes every 2 years, these classes must include 6 hours of Mandatory Legal courses including: TREC Legal Updates TREC Ethics Updates The other 9 hours are elective courses. The Texas Real Estate Commission requires a 24-hour waiting period after a course is started before it can be reported as complete. This means that after you have started a course, Online Institute of America must wait at least 24 hours before reporting your MCE status to TREC, regardless of the actual time you may have completed the course.
